Biography:
Andre Bauchant worked as a gardener until 1914 and began painting five years later after serving in the army. During his service, he displayed an aptitude for drawing as was trained as a mapmaker. Returning home, he pursued an art career and held his first show at the Salon d’Automne in 1921. His preferred subjects came from history and mythology.
